to me
Things are going pretty great here! I don't know if you have ever read the talk called the fourth missionary but it is super good. I read it and it is really inspiring. You should tell uncle dale to have his mission prep class read it. It said I can change my very nature which I thought was awesome. It said I just have to want to change which I really do! I want to be a missionary that Christ would be proud of. It said the fourth missionary completely aligns his will with the will of the Father. I've really been thinking about that a lot. I cant figure out how to do that... I really want for my will to be perfectly in line with His but I always catch myself thinking about what I want even though I may be doing what the Lord wants. Like I will be out tracting but I will be thinking about how much longer till I'm done or what I'm going to do when I get home and stuff like that. I want what the Lord desires to be what i desire, and I know that is what will make me the happiest and bring me the most success but i don't know what to do. How do I change my desires and my way of thinking? Any suggestions? They would be much appreciated. Thanks for everything! You're the best! It sounds like everything is going well there :) you should send a picture of the puppies.
Love you,
Elder Johnson

Dear Elder Johnson,

Another week gone by.

This week I have spent most of my days building fence around the new pastures we have acquired. It has been hot, except for Thursday and a big thunder storm rolled in for most of the day. It was a nice relief. I have McKay and Josh Pettus helping me. They are pretty good help.

I went to a training seminar on Friday all day. The morning is how ranchers could improve grazing on open land and the afternoon was on Permaculture gardening. Yeah, I didn't know what permaculture gardening was either until I went to this class. Something we are looking into doing at the school. It is kind of a natural gardening technique.

Yesterday I went up with Bevin, Randy, Tony, Nathan, Dale, Brad and his new wife and Mark (went to Alaska with us and was home sick) and finished the fencing up on Kolob. It was a long day, but it is ready for cows.

We are selling a few puppies. Have someone coming by tomorrow to pick one up. A boy at the school wants to buy one. Not sure how that is going to work, but Tammy thinks it will be a good idea. After tomorrow we will have 4 sold for sure and another family, the Halls from down the street came and looked at them tonight. Everyone by the dad wants to buy one.

Hope things are going well there. Sounds like a lot is going on from your last letter that Mom was slow to send to me. You better copy me on your letters. Hope you are having a great time.

Love Dad.
