Letter from Sam to Family

Well Elder Daley is gone to Weatherford.... So sad... But Elder Hew Len is here :D He is pretty bomb I love him! He is from hawaii and he has been out for 16 months and has had 12 companions. Everyone keeps asking him if he is the fix it missionary. I guess it was kind of funny the first 3 times.. hah. I get to be the leader now it's pretty fun.

We had kind of a rough week lessons wise but it will get better. We have some pretty high goals and I know that we can reach them. This area has people that are ready I know it! We just have to put forth the faith and effort to find them.

It has finally cooled off so that has been super nice. It feels so good in the mornings.

Roberto is getting baptized on Wednesday!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Roberto is the bomb! I'm so excited! He is going to do some amazing things in his life I know it!

Oh I got to pass the sacrament yesterday in church :) That was fun I haven't done that in a long time. I was reading about the Anti-Nephi-Lehis the other day and their story is pretty amazing. These people delighted in murdering and stealing and they completely changed through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and because some of the most righteous people EVER! While I was reading about them it reminded me of a verse in Luke 9:62 (I think that is the reference) Jesus Christ is telling us in this verse that "no man having put his hand to the plough and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God". The Anti Nephi Lehis never looked back! We are just like them. We have the gospel, we have the truth, we have the commandments. We know what we need to do and we cant look back. Look at your life right now and if there is something you need to change, change it. It will bring you happiness and peace that can only come from knowing that you are following our Savior. Repent, make the change, and don't look back! I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he loves me. I know that I show my love for him by the choices I make and the things I do. I know that this is His church and that he is the head of it. I know it. And God knows that I know it and I cant look back.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week! I know I will :)

Love,
Elder Johnson

Letter from Mom

Sam,

Crazy week this week, the boys at the school had a lot of appointments, dr, dentists, orthodontist, and I had to go pick them up from horses every day so I didn't hardly get anything else done. They have hacked the computers in the classroom so they know all the passwords and dad has had to deal with that.

We got a new boy on Friday, Elliot. I just met him in passing so I don't know anything about him.

We had our primary sacrament program today. Since I have been the chorister for the whole year they asked me to stay on until the program. I was a little disappointed in our performance. I had some special numbers that the kids knew better then they preformed but oh well its over.

Saturday Grandpa Ewell and I took his razr out to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. We started at 9:30 and didn't get back until 7. First we had to go out by the horse track towards St George to pick up a trailer that Uncle Gary brought, Then we went back to Toquerville and loaded the razr, headed out to the Coral pinks, unloaded and headed off. We went about 10 minutes and I looked down and we were out of gas. We had to turn around go back and load up again. We went to Colorado city and got some gas and went back out. It was about 1:30 by now. We were looking for a place where the pony express would take the mail and drop in down a 300 foot cliff and then another rider would pick it up and deliver it to the towns around there. We never found it but it was beautiful out there and the weather was perfect. Now we have a reason to have to go back out there.

We went to the temple on Wednesday. That's about it.

Adam's mom called me today asking for your address. Adam wanted it. I called her back with your address but she didn't answer so I didn't get his but I left a message so hopefully she will call me back. Here it is:

2500 N Bristol St, Santa Anna  CA  92706

Joshua 24:15. What you choose today is who you become tomorrow.

I love you,
MOM

Letter From Dad

Here is a pretty cool video of the deer Cade shot about a month before he got it.

This week we went to the Bolder Mountains with some of the boys from the school. We left Friday and came back today (Sunday). It was the second time in 25 years that I can remember missing church. We didn't get back in time. The first time was when we went to Washington DC and we missed the train. Remember that?

We were hoping for some really good fishing, but it was a bit of a bust. We hiked in to fish this one lake and it looked really promising but it was full of reeds and difficult to fish. No one caught a fish. We did get rained and hit by hail twice. A bad one today. That was probably our punishment for missing church.

No good news from BYU this week, they got beat by Utah 20-13. Stinking Utah. Can't stand them. BYU's offence stinks. They had the ball on a first and goal on the 3 and a first and goal on the 2 and did not score a touchdown. Defense was awesome, but their quarterback can't complete a pass. What a bunch of worthless idiots.

Tomorrow heading up to Kolob to help move cows with Bevin and Dale. They have had them up by the lake.

A funny thing happened to Dale the other day. I guess they have video cameras mounted so they can look at water stuff at each location they control water and he was looking at the camera they have mounted up by the dike on Kolob and while he was watching 4 of their cows walked by. They were out. He called Tony and Randy and they went up and put them back in. It was pretty funny they happened to walk by as he was watching.

Attached is a picture of us at Lake McGath

After spending two days with the boys who don't have the gospel in their lives I can see how important missionary work is. Their value system is totally messed up. Work hard and don't be afraid to share the gospel with anyone. Talk to you next week.

Love Dad.
