Sam's Letter to Mom
Sounds like a fun time in the AZ :)
I do remember high ho the cherrio! I don't really remember how to play it though..
That's too bad about the elk hunt. I don't know what I'm going to do not being able to go camping for two years camping is the best! That should be the first thing we do :)
It has been super nice here. The weather is amazing. I finally had to break down and buy a jacket today.
That's ok about the prescription I haven't even opened the last thing of cream because my other one hasn't run out yet. So would I have to go pick up my own pills now because I don't know where any walgreens are and we are usually pretty busy on pday.
Have you been getting my pictures that I email? Some people say they cant open them and I don't know why. Thank you for the birthday package I cant wait to get it :) I haven't gotten a package in a while! I do get lots of letters though so that is fun :)
Brother Welcher (the greatest guy in Texas) took me to mens warehouse on saturday and got me some ties they are pretty sweet! They had a two for one deal so he got me two.
Well I guess I had better start on my other email, I don't really know what I am going to say because this week was pretty slow teaching wise but it went by super fast so it was kinda weird hah. I love you Mom!! Have a wonderful week!!!
Love,

Mom's letter to Sam
Sam,
Sorry about last week, we were on the road for 8 hours and didn't get in until 11pm and I drove the whole way.
We had a great time getting to know the new baby and spending time with Jeter. Katie and her mom were selling some furniture that they had refinished, like a yard sale, so I got to tend the baby while they were busy with that.
In the afternoon we went to the fair. It was pretty lame. We took Jeter and his cousin Killian. Jeter didn't want to go on any thing and Killian wanted to go on everything, especially the zipper and the big rides like that. We had to force Jeter on the little choo choo train and then we couldn't get him off.
Natalie and Jacob came in the afternoon and after dinner Dad, Kameron and Jacob went up on the mountain to get up early to finish out their elk hunt. They did not see any thing the whole hunt so it was pretty discouraging.
Saturday, Cade and Caryn got there and we just stayed at Katie's parents house enjoying being together. Jeter turned 3 yesterday so I gave him his present early, Hi Ho the Cherry oh. Remember that game. I never was very good at playing pretend like cars and stuff but as you know I love to play games, so I figured I would give him a game we could play together. He didn't quite get how the game was suppose to be played, Jeter made up his own rules, but we had fun playing together, And that was the point, eventually he will get it.
Sunday Church was at nine, so we hurried off to church and Kam did a good job blessing Bret. We went back to Katie's parents, where they had a brunch waiting for us. It was good and I had brought some peaches so we had peaches and cream.
We left about 2 but with the time change we didn't get home until after 11. It was fun but I sure do miss those grand kids.
I sent your birthday package on Thursday so I hope it gets there before you birthday. I had planned to send it earlier but I want so get your medicine in it and when I called to get a refill they said your prescription had expired and they had to call Sister Thomas to get a new one. Well she didn't get back to them until Tuesday and I didn't get it picked up until Wednesday. Then when I went to get it they had only requested to prescription with the pills. So they had to request for the prescription of the cream. I decided to send it without the cream but I have it now and I will get it in the mail tomorrow along with some pictures. I set up express pay at Walgreen's so when you run out of your medicine you can just call it in to any Walgreen's near you and they will bill my credit card.
This week was busy trying to get ready for the deer hunt. We went up to the Ponderosa on Monday to take the quad up and pitch our tent. And Wednesday and Thursday we were busy at the school trying to paint some extra rooms we had added on to the shed out back for some therapist offices and a classroom. The carpeter's were coming and we had to hurry and get everything ready for them. I worked late on Wednesday and dad worked late both Wednesday and Thursday. So no time to sight in dad's gun.
Friday was the usual trying to get everything ready to go, along with trying to get everything done at work so dad could take the week off. We finally got away about 5 but since we had taken just about everything on Monday once we got there, there wasn't much for us to have to do.
Saturday morning after breakfast Tanner, Summer, Chase, Ashton and I went to hike Observation Point. Tanner said it ended up at the same place where you, him, Julia and Andrea hike last winter except you start on top on the Ponderosa and just hike to the point. It still took us 3 hours to go out and back but I could see the trail you guys took and it looked pretty intense.
Nobody got any deer. Your dad shot 3 times at some three points but he said they were about 300 yards away and he missed. Everyone else said they passed up 2 points all day long. Cade has a tag so dad is enjoying hunting with him.
I had to speak in the 10th ward today. They had my presidency speak with 2 youth speakers and a musical number so I didn't have a lot of time left to speak. I was trying to whittle down my talk as I was speaking so I am not sure it flowed real well but Dad and Cade said it was good. I spoke on mastering your thoughts. At least that was what was on my paper.
Well I guess I will close this epistle by saying Happy Birthday!! I love you and work hard.
Love,
MOM

Letter from Sam to Dad
Hey Dad,
I did get your email. It sounds like you are having a pretty fun week.
Things are going well here too. It is getting pretty cold. It went from hot to cold in a matter of a couple of days.
I didn't hear anything about the byu game. That's cool that they won though.
The texas vs oklahoma game was huge around here though. I have a texas hat and whenever I wear it I get compliments haha.
I cant believe this is the last week of the transfer already! It seems like it just started. I love the ward I am in they are awesome so I would like to stay another one but who knows what will happen. I just hope I don't get sent to a car area I love riding my bike :) Time is just flying out here I cant believe it. It's cool because I don't think there is a day that goes by where at one point in the day I don't think man this stinks I don't know if I can do this for two years, but when I look back on my mission so far I can only think of the good things not of the hard times. I also like how I can have a whole day of bad things happen and it only takes one good thing to make the whole day a good day :) And the Lord always blesses me with at least one good thing I love it! I wouldn't trade these last four months for the world! I'm trying my best out here but I know I still have a lot to improve on but I also know that as long as I'm better today than I was yesterday I'm doing pretty good.
Well I hope you have a great time at deer camp. Hopefully you've shot a monster by now :) I love you Dad!

Letter from Dad to Sam
Hi Sam,
Well it has been a busy week. The deer hunter has started. I guess the big news is the first morning I saw the 3 bucks grazing down in a pastor about 300 yards away. I wasn't sure I wanted to shoot them on the first day because at first I didn't think they were big enough but as I was scoping them a nice three point came out and so I decided I better shoot it. I put my scope right on his back and shot the deer did not go down but ran down with the other 2 bucks that were grazing. They still did not know where I was and so they stop to look around. I took another aim and shot again the 3 of them took off like nothing happened they ran a little ways and stopped again still trying to figure out where the shot was coming from. By this time they were a good 300 yards maybe 400 yards away. I sided in on them again picking the biggest 1 and shot and they all 3 trotter into the trees. I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with my gun and it couldn't be the shooter. I was so busy this week I did not have time to site in my gun that was a little concerning. After sizing things up a little later I figured that I was probably shooting over 300 yards and so I'm guessing that my bullets for going under the deer. Even though I missed it was fun to get to shoot at a few bucks. I think it got the buck ego out of me.
We hunted the rest of the day and seen quite a few dear but the bucks were all spikes or 2 points and a lot of doe's and fawns. It has been a fun time though and the weather has been great
This evening after church Cade and I went up through the coral pink sand dunes and we figure we seen over 300 deer and only a few spikes and a 2 point. It was fun to see that many dear running around . 1 of the things that was kind of neat was we seen on heard of turkeys and there was a little fawn dear chasing them around and keeping them in a bunch I'll send a picture of it. It is a little blurry because it was getting dark when I took it.
As for a b_y_u update they played Houston in football yesterday and won 46 to 45 scoring with only a few seconds left and doing at two point conversion. We were able to listen to a little bit of the game why we were out deer hunting. I guess in the first half yeah I was a real shoot out Houston was ahead 38 2 34. Houston was on defeated going into the game so you was a good win for byu . Also Florida State one so Kameron was really happy about that and call to let me know. I guess saying slaughtered Clemson who was ranked # 3. Was it big news in Texas that b_y_u was coming to play Houston?
I told you that I did not have time to site my gun in because I was so busy at work. We are adding on new room actually 3 new rooms out under the shed by the house. We closed it in and divided up to make to offices for therapist in 1 classroom. We have the carpet people coming on thursday and we were nowhere near ready to have them come so I was working long hours between 8 and 8:30 each day to get ready. My hope was to be done by noon on Friday but I finally got done around 5. I do have this whole week off so that will be on nice break.
I guess the other big news is that I got on new phone and that is what I am sending this email. actually talking it so if there are any weird phrases or spelling or comments errors that is because it did not translate what I said correctly. For the most part it seems to be working pretty well and is faster than I can type.
Well I guess I better get to bed so I can be fresh to shoot that big 1 tomorrow. We miss not having you here but we no that you are where you are supposed to be. I'm sure you will be blessed to shoot a monster when you get home because of your service on your mission haha.
We love you and pray for you daily word card and represent the savior Jesus Christ well.
Love dad
