Letter from Sam to Family

Rain rain go away come again when I'm not in a bike area! Yes it has been raining here. The cool weather has been awesome I love it!

This week was super awesome! We saw some pretty amazing miracles :) On Wednesday we were going home for lunch and we saw this lady mowing her lawn so Elder Hew Len stopped to ask her if she needed help and she said YES please! She was so grateful and told us thank you like 15 times. Afterwards she asked us if we set up appointments with people because she wanted to sit down and talk with us. Haha that's a first :) Her name is Blessing and she is from Nigeria. When we showed up for the appointment no one answered so we were pretty sad, but the next day we stopped by again and she answered :D We had a super awesome lesson about the Restoration and she had a million questions it was cool.

She told us the story about the day we helped her it was pretty amazing. She had just gotten home from working the night shift (she is a nurse) and she was super tired but her lawn man hadn't come for two weeks and her lawn was super long and if you don't mow it you can get fined, so she borrowed her neighbors lawn mower and started mowing. It was super hot and she was really tired so she said she just started praying to God that he would help her and that is when we showed up :D Missionaries to the rescue! She said she was impressed because 4 years ago she was outside sweeping and a missionary came and took the broom from her and helped her and she thought it was cool because the first thing out of both that missionary's mouth and elder Hew Len's wasn't about religion it was just "can I help you?" She was confused because her church told her how terrible mormons are and that she should not talk to them but we are the ones being the most Christ like. It was cool because God answered her prayers for help with us and our prayers for someone to help and teach with her :)

This week was probably one of the hardest I have had but it has also been one of the most rewarding. I know that God answers prayers and that as we are diligent He will bless us with our righteous desires. Everyday my testimony of this gospel grows stronger and stronger I love it! There is nothing comparable to doing the Lord's work! There are people that are ready and if we are willing God will lead us to them. The church is true!!!!

Love you all!

Letter from Dad to Sam

I should preface this very short letter with a note. We had got back from Kameron's house very late Sunday night and did not get a chance to send a letter to Sam. Both Tina and I were going to write early Monday morning, but forgot. Around 12 noon I felt that I should look at my email and I notice that I had just received Sam's letter zero minutes ago. I remembered that I had not wrote him and fired the following note back to Sam. He happened to still be on line and followed up with a quick reply back. Don't know why, but Sam's reply really touched my heart.

Hi Sam,

I didn't get a letter off to you this week. Will catch up next week after deer season starts. Went to Katie and Kameron's this weekend for the baby blessing of Bret. Hope all is well.

Love Dad
