Hello all :)
Things are still going well here in Texas. Things have really warmed up here and it is very humid but I'm still alive and lovin it! Not too much happened this week. Everything is still going well with Roberto. He said he wants to get baptized after he is twelve though so we are going to push his baptism back a few weeks which is kind of sad because transfers are coming up and Elder Daley has been here for a long time. Roberto is solid though and we are excited for him to become a member of the church. We have been taking deacons with us to the lessons and they have been getting along really well so that is good.
On Thursday we went with our zone to this Presbyterian church and did some service for them. They do this thing called our daily bread where they do free breakfast and lunch everyday for the homeless. It is pretty cool. They were doing their annual fund raiser so the board members were all there signing letters and our job was to stuff them in envelopes and seal them. It was fun :)
Hmmm nothing else too exciting happened. It poured rain yesterday until like noon then it cleared up and the sun came out. Hah holy smokes now I know what 100 degrees and 100 percent humidity feels like!
Sorry I cant think of anything else... all is going well I am still learning a lot and loving the work. There is nothing like sharing the gospel! I hope everyone is doing well. I hope some pictures will make up for this lame letter.
OH! hah how could I forget I went to the temple today! It was awesome! That is why we are doing pday today instead of yesterday :)

Dear Sam,
This is your dear ol dad again, writing this week from Brian Head ski resort. Your mom and I are up here celebrating our 33 wedding anniversary. Normally this weekend we would all be together at some cabin or something, but I guess when we all got together for your farewell, that counted.
They hold church up here each week in the city office building. We just got back. Haven’t been to church in something other than a church building since my mission. It was good, most everyone were tourist and it was fast and testimony meeting. Got to hear some good stories.
Friday was the start of Peach days in Hurricane. Before leaving town we stopped by the festivities to see what was going on. There were a bunch of booths selling food or other things. There was a Mexican booth selling tamales and beans and rice. I miss that Mexican food from Arizona and I asked the ladies running the booth if their food was good home cooked Mexican food. They assured me it was. The tamale was ok, the beans were really good, rice ok.
We drove to Brian Head after lunch. We settled in at the place we are staying and watched a couple of old movies on TV. Didn’t do too much on Friday.
Saturday we got up early and drove to Panguitch Lake and fished for a few hours, only caught one tiny fish that I didn’t even know I had on. Reeled in to check my line and it was on. From there we drove to Mammoth caves. These caves are like the lava shoots in Flagstaff. They were interesting; your mom bumped her head on the ceiling pretty hard, which was about the only real interesting thing that happened. It echoed pretty good.
After the caves we went to Navajo Lake fishing. Mostly caught chubs and a couple of small trout. We planned to go fishing at Mammoth Creek, but it started raining so we came back to the motel and barbecued steak for dinner.
Do they let the missionaries watch/listen to BYU football? They played yesterday and lost in the last few minutes 19-16. New year same story as last year, no offence. They should have won the game easily. It was sad. Four times they had a 2nd down and less than two yards to go and didn’t get a first down. The offensive line couldn't hold the defense. The real heart breaker was at the end when BYU had the game sewed up and they decided to throw a pass on 3rd down when they were up 16-12 with only a couple of minutes to go. The pass was intercepted and they scored on the next play. BYU football at its best.
Cade has some pretty exciting news about his bow hunt. Hopefully he will send you some pictures. Mom said she is going to send some pictures. Hopefully the pictures don't make you to homesick...
Just finished the part of the Book of Mormon where the 2000 stripling warriors took care of the Lamanites. I always thought they recorded 2 big battles they were in, but after reading it this time as near as I can tell they tell about 3 battles. Pretty amazing that they couldn't be killed because of their faith in what their mothers had taught them. I assume that their mothers got their faith because of Ammon and his faith that he could not be killed if he remained righteous.
Mom just gave me a good scripture found in Alma 38:2. This is how we feel about you.
Keep up the good work and we are praying for your safety and success in bring those Texans to Christ.
Love Dad.
PS Send pictures.

Dear Sam,
I finally have done something exciting to tell you about and everything happens at once and next week will be a boring letter again.
Thursday Aunt Susan was in charge of a peach day’s room where people brought in produce, canning and baked goods to be judged. She asked me to help her when people brought things in have them label their stuff. So I went over after work and stayed while the judges came in and judged. We also got to sample the baked good stuff. I had a fun time.
Friday, we got a little later start than I wanted to because I didn’t get ready the night before. But we headed up to Brian Head for our anniversary. We stayed in a really nice hotel, which we just hung out at on Friday night.
Saturday, we got up early and went to Panguitch Lake and fished. It was really slow but I still had to pry your dad away from the lake. We went to some caves, which were cool and then over to Navajo lake. Dad was catching fish every two minutes but they were only like 6 inches long so it wasn’t too exciting.
We took a little hike out to a view point then over to an ice cave. Where in the old days people could get ice in the summer and they would store their meat so it wouldn't spoil.
Today I woke up to a text from Cade that had a picture of a monster buck that he shot (picture attached) that was exciting. Then a little bit later Kameron text me that Katie was in labor and going to have her baby.
We went to church at the town hall here in Brian head. There were about 50 people there. That was at the 9:00 meeting but it was more packed at the 11 meeting when we drove by.
We went for a drive, talked to Cade about his hunt and got pictures of Bret Robert Johnson, 7.4 lbs. 19 inches long (pictures also attached). We are going to Skype later on today.
Well that was my exciting day. We are going home tomorrow. We will probably do a little more fishing before we go. But that will be for next week’s letter. We still haven’t got any pictures from you. Hope your week goes good.
I love you,
MOM
