Sam's Letter to the Family

This week was awesome!! We had so much fun preaching the gospel! It's the best thing ever!!!! We were working super hard all week long and nothing seem to be coming of it, but in the end the Lord blessed us as he always does :) As missionaries we set goals every week and this week we met almost every one of them! It was awesome :) We met so many awesome people it was great :)

I think the highlight of our week was on Saturday night though. We went to just stop by Lakeisha's because we hadn't been able to meet with her for a while because she is in the army and goes out of town a lot. We found her home and she let us right in and she was so excited to tell us that she read the chapter from the Book of Mormon we left her! She liked it so much she read it twice :D Her kids were there and they joined us for the lesson and we taught them about the Plan of Salvation and they loved it! The kids were really participating in the lesson so that was fantastic! Lakeisha really liked the kingdoms of glory :) I think that is my favorite part too :)

It really shows our Heavenly Father's love for his children by making it so almost everyone makes it to "heaven". We committed all three of them to baptism on the 15th :) They said they were coming to church yesterday so we were waiting for them yesterday and we waited... and waited... and waited.... then church started and we waited.... Then they started the sacrament and they closed the doors, but then when we saw out in the foyer when one of the deacons walked out there and her and her daughter were sitting out there :D She said her son got up too late and he took too long so they just left him hah and that's why they were late.

Oh I got to speak in sacrament meeting yesterday! That was pretty fun :) I got to speak on coming unto Christ :) I was the youth speaker though so I didn't get very much time, but I think it went good :)

Oh  we got transfer calls this morning and Elder Carter and I get to serve another transfer together :D It's going to be awesome and we're going to baptize thousands :)

Well that's pretty much all of the excitement for the week. I hope everyone is doing well!

Love,

Elder Johnson

Sam's Letter to Dad

Oh my goodness I cant believe Brian passed away.. I remember I got to work with him once for uncle Dwayne on a roof. He was just getting ready for his mission then. He finally gets to be a missionary.

That's pretty cool that you are taking in Jimi. I think I remember him. He's been there for a while hasn't he? It will be fun to have someone back in the house I bet :)

I just got an email from Chandry he is doing awesome! He's already a district leader! I bet he's a fantastic missionary, he has always had really great people skills! It sounds like he is freezing to death though hah.

Hey can you get me brother moosmans address and also the Stuarts? And sorry about not sending pictures. I cant figure out these dumb computers.

I like your poster that is pretty cool :)

Well I hope you all get feeling better!

Love,
Elder Johnson

Dad's Second Letter to Sam

I noticed that some of my week ending dates have 2013 instead of 2014. Don't be confused.

I forgot to tell you Brian Scott passed away this week from cancer. I guess his mission was to some other far away place. Funeral was yesterday.

Actually the reason I am sending the second note is I forgot to attach my latest new saying that I like. I made the poster myself. Pretty talented huh???

See attached.

Love Dad.

Dad's Letter to Sam

Well, this was a pretty uneventful week. I can't think of anything that really happened that was interesting. I guess we have to have a slow week once in a while.

I did buy the plywood to put in the bottom of the boat. So that is something we will be working on shortly. I went on a horse ride with Bevin yesterday. It was a nice day and we rode up on the hill where they put their cows to check the grass. Not to much growing yet. It is real dry. We had that one huge storm and have had nothing since. Time to start praying for moisture.

We didn't get the boy from the gay couple. They liked our program best, but let the boy choose between our program and one up north. He took the up North.

I good study chapter is in the priesthood manual on Joseph Fielding Smith. Chapter 2 is on his testimony of Christ. It is really good.

Other than us being all a little sick this past week, all is well here.

I can't remember if I told you that we are looking to take Jimi in (from the school) after he graduates in April. We will probably have him until he is 18. So he could still be here when you get home. It will be interesting and we hope it works out. Never done it before so we are a little nervous. Jimi is one of the good kids at the school so it should work out ok.

Well that is about it. Work hard and stay close to the spirit. Have a great week.

Love Dad.

PS. Send pictures.
